13732042_10207089676180531_1026366611174530549_oHello there – congratulations on almost making it to Friday! In a heat wave like this, we’re celebrating everything. Anything to keep our minds off the fact that we’re essentially melting every time we step out the door.

Our best tip to beat the heat is to indulge in something cool and refreshing. Like Brine’s ceviche or Dolcezza’s gelato – simply by living your life in 100 degrees, you’ve earned both of those. Trust us.

When you’re cooled off sufficiently, or if you’re just living your life in the AC, take the downtime to dive into some good reads! Maybe – just maybe – they’ll transport you enough that you forget how bad it is out there.

Some suggestions:

  • Fashion and politics always seem to intersect. And though Michelle Obama’s dress looked simple at the DNC, it was anything but. New York Times

  • Talk about courage – a Boston Marathon bombing survivor scaled a mountain in Ecuador. WTOP

  • Allyson Felix talks about returning from an injury to become an Olympian. So inspiring. People

Happy reading!
