Hiring Barista at Angelika Film Center and Cafe (Fairfax)

We are hiring part time baristas for our quick serve café in our movie theater lobby. Ideal candidates would have experience in the customer service or food industry (coffee shop, cinema, hotel, restaurant or retail industry); however we are willing to train those candidates that prove their motivation and sincere desire to learn. We looking for smart, friendly individuals who have an interest in the films we show and are dedicated to making the Angelika Film Center Mosaic a first-class cinema and dining experience.

The Barista position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service, quality handcrafted coffee beverages and food made to order in our lobby cafe. Qualified candidates should be enthusiastic about producing excellent specialty coffee beverages while working in a team environment.

We are looking for people who are:
Knowledgeable or passionate about coffee, tea, food, wine, and craft beer
Willing to learn and be trained to meet our cafe standards of excellence, while meeting health and food safety regulations
Comfortable working in a close quarters environment
Personable and outgoing as cafe staff serves as the first point of contact for many of the cinema’s guests.
Able to multitask and stay productive while demonstrating superior customer service
Able to work calmly and efficiently in fast paced rushes and be proactive during down time in between movie sets
We run based on the movie theater schedule and weeknights, weekends and holidays availability is required for all staff members. Must be 18yrs or older to work in café.
