Philippine Independence Festival

June 15, 11-9 and June 16, 11-6

The Mosaic District, L&L and Your Soul Shall Net Work is proud to present the first annual Philippine Independence Day Festival at Mosaic! We welcome you to be a part of the largest Filipino Festival in the area! While we acknowledge the Philippines during its Independence Day on June 12, the theme is “Celebrating the Independence of Independents”, a message that celebrates the bravery of standing on one’s own and the supporters that have played an impactful role in the creation of that independence. Although the Philippines is a collection of islands, we recognize that NO ONE is an island.

FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS

• Festival hosted by Roxanne Barcelo, Virginia native and Philippine superstar!
• Cultural Stage (near Strawberry Park); we showcase traditional dance all around Asia, contemporary vocalists, martial arts demonstrations, and more!
• Independents Stage (near True Foods); we showcase up and coming, independent local artists. Singers and bands of all genres!
• Activities for the kids: inflatables, a water splash area, face painting and balloon art!
• 80+ vendors offering food, crafts, clothing, desserts and beverages!
• Line Dancing (Filipino party tradition!), and a “DOUBLE YOUR POLVORON” Philippine Culture/History Game Show with prizes!
• MANILA AT MOSAIC, a section where we celebrate all things FILIPINO! Filipino themes, Filipino-owned businesses, Filipino foods, and more!
